Name | Code | Feature | Purpose |
Natural Rubber | NR | The only one that does not produce petroleum. | Mainly used in inflating tire, rubber shoe, rubber hose, rubber belt, tape, and molds. |
Polybutadiene Rubber | BR | Elasticity and cold-resistance is better than natural rubber. | Mainly used in manufacturing tire, rubber shoe, and cold-resistance goods. |
Styrene Butadiene Rubber | SBR | Can substitute natural rubber. | Mainly used in inflating tire, rubber shoe, rubber hose, rubber belt, tape, and molds. |
Nitrile Butadiene Rubber | NBR (PVC/NER) |
Lubricating oil, fuel and gasoline resistance. Also, excellent wear-resistance. | Mainly used in industrial products such as oil seal, axle seal, washer, diaphragm, and rubber hose. |
Butadiene Bubber | IIR | Superior airtight, small rebound, impact and shock proof. | Mainly used in inflating the tire tube, underground cable, high voltage cable, radiation-proof gloves, chemical-engineering equipment lining, and shock-proof rubber goods. |
Ethylene Propylene Rubber | EPDM | Superior ozone-resistance, weather-resistance, chemical-proof, electrical-proof, and excellent water-resistance. | Mainly used in heat-proof conveyor belt, airtight material of steam hose, shock absorbing cushion and water-proofing material, cable, cable sheathing, and car accessories. |
Polychloroprene Rubber | CR (Neoprene) |
Ozone-resistance and weather-resistance is just second to ethylene-propylene rubber (EPDM) and butadiene rubber (IIR), excellent combustion resistance | Mainly used in manufacturing combustion resistance, heat-proof, and oil-proof rubber hose, rubber belt, tape, and molds. |
Ethyl-methyl Acrylic | AEM (Vamac) |
Possessing good heat-resistance and weather-resistance, good heat-proof – oil-proof balance. | Mainly used in car parts such as axle seal, coolant and power operated tube, high temperature spark plug protection, and the speed connector of automatic corrugated hose. Also used in wire and cable such as in the production of ignition wire protective sleeve. |
Polyacrylate Rubber | ACM | Excellent heat-proof, oil-proof, ozone-resistance, weather-resistance, and permanent compression deformity property under high temperature. Widely used in car industry and mechanical spare parts in various fields. | Oil seal, rubber hose, partition board packing, oil disk, sealing ring, etc. |
Fluro Carbon Rubber | FKM (Viton) |
Possessing good oil-proof, heat-proof, ozone-resistance, chemical corrosion-proof, but poor cold resistance. | Mainly used in modern sophisticated technology and temperature-proof, corrosion-proof, oil-proof, and radiation-proof sealing and protection goods. |
Silicon Rubber | Q (Silicon) |
Its biggest characteristic is a synthetic rubber with both heat-proof and cold-resistance (100~300℃), excellent ozone-resistance, heat-proof, light-resistance, and good electrical insulation. Its disadvantage is that its physical property – synthetic rubber ratio is very low. | Mainly used in military and aviation industry, and in foods and medical articles. |
Fluro Silicon Rubber | FQ | It’s a kind of synthetic rubber formed with the combination of silicone rubber and Teflon. It is heat-proof, acid-resistance, alkali resistance, oil-proof, and high tear resistance. | Static sealed components. |
Chlorosulfunated Polyethylene | CSM (Hypalon) |
Good chemical corrosion-proof, combustion resistance is second to Neoprene (CR) | Widely used in heat-proof, oil-proof, and chemical corrosion-proof industrial sealing rings. |
Hydrogenated Nitrile Rubber | HNBR | Possessing excellent oil-proof, heat-proof, solvent-proof, abrasion proof, and cold-resistance. | Mainly used in oil field and car industry. Utilization condition gets harsher daily with the increase of oil well depth. |
Thermnoplastic Elastomer Rubber | TPE | Possessing the characteristic of rubber and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). Differentiated from hot vulcanized rubber. Since it doesn’t need vulcanization, scraps can be recovered and reused, complying to energy-saving, resources-saving biodegradable trend. Poor heat-proof, mostly used at 70~100℃. | Types of TPE in the market currently are TPS, TPO, TPEE/ HYTREL/ GRILUX, TPU, and TPR. |
